Review:
I took a chance with the first novel, which sounded right up my alley. You never know with self pubbed authors what you will get. I have even looked up various ones on Goodreads before buying, finding solid 4 star reviews, only to be totally disappointed and left wondering if the author had friends go and rate their books high. But anyways. I paid $2.99 for each e-book and was totally thrilled. These books are amazing. Why, you ask? Firstly, they are very well written. Secondly, characterization is impecable. Lastly, the last book! I'm not going to spoil anything, but DAMN the last book is hot. Be forewarned, these books are mature. I'm thinking 14+. There's quite a bit of drinking, sexual inuendos, and swear words throughout these. And in the last book, there are quite a few sexual scenes. And might I add, fantastically done sexual scenes.
The characters in this series are spot on. I honestly enjoyed each and every one of them except Graham. He's not really a main protag, but still. Reid was fantastic. I feel Webber nailed him on the head with the stereotypical Hollywood-bad-boy-with-ridiculously-good-looks-whose-shit-doesn't-stink attitude. I normally don't like those type of characters, but Reid was just so well done and sweet underneath the exterior that you couldn't help but just love him. Emma was a realistic and down to earth character who made a decision about her Hollywood career that would be best for her. Gotta love her for staying true to herself. And Dori. Tough as nails Dori. Good girl Dori. I loved her. She complemented Reid well and was down to earth, stubborn, and the total opposite of everything Reid is.
