Review:

Spells is the 2nd book in the Wings series and picks up a few months after Wings leaves off.  Laurel is enjoying her year in school with her boyfriend David, but when summer pproaches she is beckoned to Avalon to begin training as a Fall Faerie.  It is there that she meets Tamani yet again, and so begins to continuation of one of the most annoying love triangles ever.  Let me just start out by saying that I hate David with an unnerving passion.  And the worst part?  I don't even know why I hate the guy.  I just like Tamani much better, and David is just in the way.  And that stupid, stupid Laurel just keeps pulling on both their heartstrings.  Although **SPOILER ALERT**  I was quite surprised when she actually decided to not be selfish and told Tamani she couldn't see him again, because she felt she was leading him on. **END SPOILER ALERT**  Overall, not as much action or romantic tension but still a solid 3 stars for me.  I honestly didn't expect anything great, this being the 2nd book, but I hope the 3rd book, Illusions is better.

3 stars out of 5.

  1. Nice review. I just finished Wings and it ended up being cuter than I was expecting. So I kind of had higher hopes for this one. Good to know I should go into without expecting too much.
I'm pretty indifferent to David, so I'll have to see how I feel after I finish Spells. :)
